Hello and welcome, I'm Neil Morecraft and this is Autom8, and in this first module, we're going to just go over what you can expect from the program and what Autom8 is all about. So, first of all, what I want to congratulate you on making the decision to join the program, I'm really excited to be here. I'm looking forward to working with you over the course of the next six weeks as we digitally transform your business. So I'm just going to take a quick look at the module that you're in now, the way that the course material is presented to you, we're going to dive into Asana, have a quick look at that project workspace, and then we're just going to talk a little bit about digital transformation, what that means in your business and ultimately in your life, the old way versus the new way and then the ultimate end game, you know, what is the real end game here? What is the purpose of you doing this? And I really hope that as I say over the course of the next six weeks, you get a lot from this course and you're really able to transform your business in the same way that I've been able to transform mine.
So let's have a look at the at the module that you're in now. And you'll see down here that there's six different modules, 6 weeks, 12 chapters, 39 lessons. And and the course is for intermediate. Now, if we dive into the Asana workspace, actually let me just go back here. You can always get into your workspace by clicking this button at the top here. If you go into the Asana workspace, you'll see that these weeks have all been, all correlate with the with the content in here.
So as you watch the course lessons in here and you go through it, this will keep a progress of where you are. And as you go through that, it will tell you what's complete and what completed. But within each section you have an overview with a number of different videos in it, which is where we are now. And then at the end of those intro videos, you've got the number of tasks and those tasks, as I say, correlate with the tasks in Asana. So that at any given time, if you're stuck on a particular thing, you can go either into your module here and look at exactly what needs to be done. And then you can come back in here and tick these off and keep a track of what's going on. Now, the truth is you could go through this course quicker than six weeks, that the content is not drip fed to you.
You've got lifetime access to it, but it could take you more than six weeks. And I think from experience, what I've found is that initially you're going to be very keen. You're going to turn everything off. You're going to put some time aside. You're going to probably whiz through week one in a couple of days. And then as you get into week two and week three, and you start to think, oh, hang on a minute, there's a bit more work to be done. Particularly if you start to go outside your comfort zone a little bit, and you hit a bit of a barrier, that's when things might slow down, but I would urge you to keep plowing through, do things in the right order, don't jump around. It's really important that if, you know if you do a task up here, you do it at the right time because it is interconnected with something else further down the line.
As I say, all of these things, everything that I'm going to be asking you to do, I'm going to be doing with you. So none of it is just demo, it's a real live environment type stuff, and you'll see exactly how to do the things that I'm asking you to do. And once you're in Asana, as I say, you've got an email from me, how will the link, you'll be looking at something similar with your own workspace. And this has just been broken down so you can see how hard these tasks are, what additional resources you've got. There are notes contained within these tasks as well, so you can really get a clear instruction. And we're going to go through in a bit later how to put due dates and stuff on this, which will then create this project timeline for you, which at the moment is empty.
But as soon as you put some dates in there, you'll see all that pop to life. And then you've got a dashboard that will keep track of what's going on, how many tasks you've got the cost of, that kind of stuff and your progress throughout. So yeah, if you haven't taken the time already to look at Asana, maybe go and watch a video on that at some point, as I say, I want to talk you through this in a bit more detail anyway. But fundamentally that's it, you've got this module here where you've got the course material with me talking screen-sharing that kind of stuff. And then you've got your Asana project workspace where you're actually going to get things done. So that's the workspace that we're in, we go back and just have a look at the PowerPoint slides the course material, the project workspace, there are some other resources.
In fact, that's a good point. I'll go back and show you those other resources. If you do get stuck where you want to relate to something outside of the course content, the main site at tobi.exchange does have all of the links to all the various bits of software and there's a knowledge base and that kind of stuff. So you can come here and get resources there. You can also click this button here and ask a question if you need to. And that will come through to me and my team where we can answer it. Alternatively, of course you can make a comment in the in the task material here itself, down the bottom, sorry at the top here. Once you're in the module, you'll find that there's a comments box and and you can use the comments box.
I'm not logged in. You you'll be seeing that now, of course. There is also some resources on the main AskTobie site and you'll find them down the bottom here. And sometimes I refer back to those. So there are some templates and stuff that we use in here. I would urge you not to use the live chat facility on that. So what can you expect?
Well, digital transformation as it says, here is the adoption of digital technology to transform businesses or services through the replacement of non-digital processes. So we talk a lot about lead generation and sales and marketing automation in this course, that's fundamentally what it's about, but it goes way beyond that because you start to see that as you use actions and triggers in your business that you can start automate other business processes. And that might be the, you know, when you take an order, for example, it might task someone in the office to send out you know, a welcome pack or something like that. So let's say as we go through this program, you'll understand the logic of how we do that. You certainly do it to a point where you'll be able to streamline your sales and marketing processes. And as I say, a lot of this is based around lead generation because, you know, I know as a small business owner, you want ultimately to create a better work-life balance, but on top of that, you need to close more sales. So that's really what the course focuses on. But as I say, you'll see, as we go through that, it will offer you so much more.
So yeah, as opposed to what you can expect from the course, you can expect the total digital transformation of your business, but also the transformation of you. You know, it took me a long time to get to where I am now. And and digital technology has really allowed me to have more time and more freedom and, and be able to spend quality time with my kids and my family. And that's just as much a bigger part of this course, as they're closing more business, right?It's about getting your time back and getting your freedom back.
So I want to talk a little bit about the old way versus the new way, because there are going to be times where you think I'm going to be like, I can't do this and then maybe going to get dissuaded or whatever, but I would really urge you to, as I say, do the right things, in the right order and keep going through put your time aside and make sure you get get the job in hand done.
So the new way of course is automated. It's about you taking back control. It's about me doing this with you is a holistic approach to your entire business, that we can streamline it. And so you become more efficient and more cost effective, and ultimately can start to make some data driven decisions. Now that might be gobaldy gook to you at this point, but at the end of this, we ended up with a KPI dashboard that shows you exactly what's going into your business.
And then you can very quickly see, hang on a minute, I need to stop that campaign. Start that campaign. Maybe I need to look over here and get this ratio different so that you can really be in control of your business. And of course the old way is you don't have any of that is fragmented. You've got this done for you mentality where you've gone out to an agency or a provider, and they've done something. They don't fully understand your business. You don't understand what they've done. And the whole thing becomes a fragmented and underutilised and inefficient. And that's not the way we want to run our business. So as I say, I've done this over the course of the last 10 years in my business. I've gone from having a staff of 30 to now a staff of one that happens to be my daughter.
She works for me as a project manager and outside of that, I use the gig economy for just about everything. So, and I'm going to show you how you can do exactly that's that same thing as well, because you know, what that's meant in my business is the operational cost has gone from tens of thousands of pounds a month to next to nothing. And that's straight on the bottom line. So it does make a massive difference when you understand how to leverage, not just a technology, but people within the gig economy, you understand the technology to then deploy that in your business and reap the rewards. So that's what we're after. And the ultimate end game of course, is that everything just works. You know, and I think I probably take this for granted because there's say I've been doing it for so long now.
But when it just works, it means that you have more time and freedom to do the things that you like, and you don't have to do the things that you don't like. So you become happier, I guess, maybe a lot less stressed. I know certainly at times looking back there were times when I was very stressed. I don't think I'm very stressed now. Of course I have challenges in my business and, and I have concerns like anybody else, but I deal with those much better than I used to. And that's really all because I've learned how to leverage the technology and humanise the business at the same time. This isn't just about automating everything. It's about automating the things that you can automate so that you free to do the things that you love, you know, fall back in love with your business. And that's really what it's all about. You taking control and getting back and getting back in control of what this is really all about. So on that note, we're going to move straight into the next video.
